Cambodian Rural Empowerment Project

This project aims to empower and equip communities in the provinces of Takeo and Battambang to improve their quality of life and to self-determine and direct their own development. It is incredible to see the effects of empowerment, as individuals come to understand that they are the active agents of change in their own community.

Each community comes together and is trained in community development. In this training, they then develop their own vision and plan of how they want to solve the issues facing their community.

Because every community is unique, no two community development plans are the same. However many initiatives want to address the most pressing issues of water and sanitation, food security, adult literacy and primary health.

In the process, not only do communities resolve the challenges facing them, but they come to understand the power of working together to meet their own needs.
